A few days ago I attended a cocktail party for the 5th anniversary of my friend Carol’s “Transcendent” gallery in Manhattan, where a large meeting of contemporary artists gave me the feeling of being among luminaries and being one more artist; Carol is one of those friends who gives you adult and responsible life, we met training in the gym, she with a beautiful and abundant blonde hair wanted to lose weight for her premature wedding with her boyfriend, a young Berlin photographer who had settled in United States after meeting her at a photo shoot in Paris, Carol was a model for a recognized brand of cosmetic care hence her beautiful and smooth face; In her preparation for her wedding we lived very pleasant moments, something happened with her wedding planner and I found a friend who always helps me with my company’s events, although her specialty is not weddings, she did an enormous and beautiful job.

Carol and her husband have had this gallery in Manhattan since they celebrated their first year of marriage and truly, due to their professional career, they have been able to publish large collections of many international plastic artists, including renowned photographers, which is why its name is Transcendent because they believe that art will always be an essential protagonist in life and time.

This anniversary cocktail was loaded with many emotions and there I was in my best outfit, Carol introduced me to some native friends from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, they have a corporation in charge of marketing with contemporary artists and masters of digital marketing, an innovative idea that has brought together renowned artists and photographers who have worked for big brands, we connect very well because my company is in charge of marketing but in addition to sharing good taste for innovative ideas we also get hooked because we suffer from Wanderlust Syndrome which refers to the obsession that some people have to travel, that is, it becomes a kind of «need» to know new corners and discover other cultures.

Michael is the general manager and now my good friend, between cocktails and some alternative music we agreed that I would agree to visit Mustique, a private island in the Lesser Antilles where he would celebrate his birthday in two days, I agreed at the insistence of Carol and her husband, they will also attend the trip. At the end of this rich evening I went to the hotel where I stayed that weekend and where my friends offered to take me. The next day they picked me up again, we went to a restaurant to eat and before I went back to Los Angeles.

Arriving in Los Angeles, just one day was enough to accommodate part of my things and go to meet Carol and her husband in a small private hangar where Michel and the rest of the crew were waiting for us to go to this small island located in the union of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, which is part of the Grenadine Islands, Mustique belongs to the state of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, I love to know that it is a beautiful area bathed by the crystalline sea and that it has numerous reefs where we can do infinities of aquatic activities and all this without counting on the rich fauna formed by turtles, herons and many other species, it has a lot of discretion due to its very small population.

Just as I dreamed because of the ostentatiousness of the trip and everything related to the transfer, we arrived at a small private track with a view that left me perplexed, when we descended a luxurious van was waiting for us that took us to a beautiful Villa where we unpacked and had a drink. ; As Michel was so eager to show us all the benefits and beautiful corners of this island, he led us to a rich and modern Beach Club called Basil’s Bar, definitely an avant-garde place where we all did not feel escaping from reality, from normality and we could let go hair.

It is without a doubt one of the best places I have visited, its excellent musical selection of rock legends with sets by artists such as Mick Jagger, Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams, left me in my comfort zone, without counting on the excellent view of the sea, as it was Sunday, this bar offers a session at sunset that consists of tasting a rich selection of drinks to the sound of good music and with a view of the sunset.

This amazing place has a fantastic lineup of fun events and activities like the Mustique Blues Festival that takes place on the island during the last week of January and the first week of February.

It should be noted that Michel behaved, he had everything perfectly planned, we danced in the sand and the whole group enjoyed a lot in his pleasant company. At the end of the afternoon we return to the beautiful and luxurious Villa so we rest to continue our tour of the beautiful island the next day.

Because it is a private island, the island has its own lodging such as the spectacular Villa where we are staying called Paraíba, which is located in the isolated southern end of the island, with a spectacular view of the lagoon and the Gelliceaux beaches that make you fall in love; this Villa is a haven of peace and tranquility.

Michel explained to me that this beautiful villa derives its name from the very rare precious stone, the owner’s favorite, which is also the color of the Caribbean Sea; it is super large, it can accommodate 14 guests in seven individual suites, scattered among the abundant exotic vegetation of the area which offers spectacular 270 degree views.

It has many spaces with different utilities with a highly professional staff in primary care that attend dining rooms, the Yoga pavilion and massage room, which I love because there is an instructor who left me as good as new with his relaxing afternoons and dawns, playground and gym.

I am in love with this island, apparently it is a kingdom without equal, it has approximately a hundred comfortable, pleasant, luxurious and comfortable villas distributed throughout the island and with which I fell madly in love, many combine their huge pool or terrace with the horizon and in the background the greenish blue of the sea.

There are countless activities that can be done in this wonderful place, we did most of them or rather what the weather allowed us, one of them was diving that later became snorkeling, windsurfing and Hobie Cat sailing; infinities of aquatic activities that really leave you breathless and with a thousand adrenaline.

Carol and Michel visited the well-stocked Water Sports Center located in Endeavor Bay, where we could choose from surf and windsurf boards, paddle boards or snorkels, and fins to explore the reefs below the sea.

But without a doubt, my unprecedented experience in Mustique was diving thanks to the support of a dedicated team of professional instructors and dive masters, with whom I was able to tour the coral reefs that surround Mustique as well as an offshore coral nursery in Endeavor Bay

Another of the must-see attractions of Mustique is this small museum dedicated to celebrities such as performers and music and Hollywood stars who have visited the island, in honor of all of them There is a small museum located in the Old Sugar Mill , adjacent to what is known as the Cotton House.

So I decided to take a casual walk through this place, when I arrived I found inside the place a wide collection of photographs and other objects that tell about the history of the island and its origins.

The day of Michel’s birthday celebration arrived and since we are in Mustique it is great to tour this little island that almost never sleeps, we agreed to celebrate it at the Cotton House Beach Bar, which really is a sensational bar.

At nightfall, it has nothing to envy those of the big cities since here we were able to enjoy countless surprises prepared exclusively for us with delicious tacos, tequila, mezcal, Latin American music and dance.

In this delicious place we were surprised by the dawn between songs at the top of our lungs and dances with locals and other visitors, we closed with a serenade on the shores of the sea.

When the afternoon came, we did not stop laughing at all the occurrences and tricks of the previous day that we took that day to rest a bit and return to the United States the next day. Already being in Los Angeles I said goodbye to my group of crazy adventurers, but not before agreeing on the date and destination of our next adventure, to which I hope you will accompany me as usual
